Happy 2011

It literally took us 6 days to recover and write this.  A big thanks to all who packed into the Larimer Lounge and helped sell out Knew Years Eve Vol II, especially American Tomahawk and Faceman for providing support, as well as Adam, Reid, and Jacob for tooting our horns.

Here is a post-show email from a friend that might provide a little imagery in case you missed it:

From Todd Roeth (photographer, poster designer, friend), to The Knew:

…The cover songs were both outstanding in their selection and clever in their execution.

My favorite surprise was the CCR cover, but at one point when I was “getting down” during the song “Shout” I looked over at Ty’s mom beside me and she was throwing a fist in the air. That might have been my favorite part of the evening.

Keep on rocking in the free world.

Some footage from one of our better halves:
Lots of good things to come in 2011, including a date with Fake Problems in February, a trip down to Austin in March for SXSW, a new video by Drummond West, and a new album full of recordings currently in the works.

Knew Years Eve Vol. II

Only seven short weeks until New Years Eve.  Obviously most of us usually don’t finalize our plans for this annual bonanza until about two days after Christmas, but if you’re planning on attending Knew Years Eve Vol. II at the Larimer Lounge now is the time to get your tickets.  Visit this website until Thanksgiving to get pre-sale tickets at half the regular price, as they go up to $15 after turkey day.

Joining us on the bill this year is American Tomahawk, a new band formed by former member of Young Coyotes and drummer for 3OH!3 Adam Halferty, as well as long-time friend Faceman.  DJ Iridel will also be spinning some nasty flavor in between sets.

This event sold out last year, and judging by the number of tickets sold thus far appears to be well on the way to do the same for 2010, so act now to make sure you’re not left out in the cold.
